Dan Petty is the director of audience and engagement at MediaNews Group, the parent company of publications including The Denver Post, Orange County Register, San Jose Mercury News and Boston Herald. He leads efforts to expand the reach of the company's journalism and build loyal audiences on the company's digital platforms, with a focus on content strategy, social media, mobile applications and digital subscriptions. Prior to that role, he spent seven years at the Denver Post in a variety of editing and production positions, working in the news and sports departments. Since 2017, he has consulted regularly with news organizations in Kazakhstan at the invitation of the U.S. State Department. He is also pursuing an executive MBA at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is expected to graduate this year.
