Jim Bankoff is the Chairman and CEO of Vox Media, the leading independent modern media company. At the helm for the past decade, Bankoff oversees all aspects of the company’s influential editorial properties; modern storytelling that spans a print magazine, digital networks, a studios division for television, streaming video, podcasts, and film; premium advertising solutions; and innovative publishing technology that enables media businesses across the industry.

In 2019, Bankoff led Vox Media’s merger with New York Media — the iconic 51-year-old publisher, acquired the Academy Award-winning Epic nonfiction storytelling studio, and acquired the Coral platform dedicated to building safer online communities. Under Bankoff, Vox Media has been named one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies in Media,” an Inc. “Company of the Year,” Digiday’s “Best Company for Parents,” and was named one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign.

Vox Media’s portfolio features editorial properties across the biggest consumer categories, including Vox, New York Magazine, The Verge, The Cut, Eater, Vulture, The Strategist, Polygon, SB Nation, Intelligencer, Curbed, Grub Street and Recode. The company’s diverse storytelling and advertising businesses include the Concert publisher-led marketplace, the Vox Creative brand studio, the Chorus publishing platform, and the entertainment division Vox Media Studios, which includes the Vox Media Podcast Network and Epic.
