Lillian Xu is Vox Media's executive director for the podcast business, where she leads strategic initiatives, franchise expansions, partnerships, and business operations. She led talent deals and partnerships with former NBA stars Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner, as well as the multi-platform pop culture phenomenon, Celebrity Memoir Book Club. She also oversaw Criminal’s 10-year anniversary international live tour, which sold over 12,000 tickets across 13 cities.
Prior to joining Vox Media, Lillian worked at New York Public Radio, where she led their strategy and business development team, overseeing corporate strategy and growth initiatives for top podcasts like Radiolab and The New Yorker Radio Hour. Previously, she also worked as a management consultant and product manager in Oliver Wyman’s Digital practice.
She’s spoken at conferences including Podcast Movement, MediaPost Publishing Insider Summit, and Paradiso Media’s Sounds of New York. She currently lives in New York City, where she sings in a chamber choir and plays pickleball.
